Doran, aged 45, with an address at Bawnlea Avenue, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to stealing clothes worth €44 from Penneys, Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, on June 24, 2016.

Sergeant Michael Ahern said that the goods had been recovered in saleable condition.

Doran’s solicitor, Eddie O’Connor, said his client wanted to apologise for her actions. He said Doran is now a grandmother and realises that she “has a very bad past”.

Judge McNamara sentenced Doran to 120 hours community service with four months jail in default.
