Tallaght Luas remains out of service after earlier crash

The Luas service between Belgard and Tallaght will remain out of service this evening after a crash on the red line just after noon today.

In a statement released this afternoon Luas operators said: “Please be advised that there is no service between Belgard and Tallaght.

“Trams only running from The Point/Connolly to Belgard/Saggart due to an incident on the Red Line.  

“Please note that Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the disruption in addition to an alternative bus serving all affected stops between Belgard and Tallaght. 

“Services are operating as normal between Belgard and Saggart. 

“We expect this disruption to affect services into this evening’s peak service unfortunately.

“We apologise for any and all inconvenience caused.”

A female passenger from the tram was taken to hospital for treatment, not believed to be life threatening.
