One of the victims suffered a fractured skull while the other had a plate inserted in his cheek.

Judge Patricia McNamara said that she wanted to see the victim-impact statements and hear from the prosecuting garda.

The teenager (17), with a Tallaght address, had pleaded guilty to assaulting two named males causing them harm at a location in Tallaght on March 17, 2015.

He was before the court for a psychological report and was accompanied by his grandmother.

The teenager’s solicitor, Michael Hennessy, said the report was “extremely complimentary”.

The court had heard that on March 17, 2015, two males were set upon by a group of five males at a Luas stop. One of the men suffered a fractured skull and the other victim had to have a plate inserted in his cheek.

Judge McNamara read the report.

She said the report described the teenager as “capable, calm and compliant”.

She asked if there were victim-impact statements.

Sergeant Eithne Madden said they had been supplied to the Circuit Court.

Judge McNamara noted that it was stated that the teenager had a lesser role in the assaults.

She said she would have to hear from the prosecuting garda.

She asked Mr Hennessy if the teenager was friends with the two co-accuseds.

In response to the Judge, Mr Hennessy said the two co-accuseds had been friends with the teenager at the time of the incident and they were older than him. He said his client was 16 at the time of the offence.

Judge McNamara remanded the teenager on continuing bail for a month for sentencing.
