Tallaght Town FC receive Club Mark One Star Award
TALLAGHT Town FC have been awarded the Club Mark One Star Award by the Football Association of Ireland.
This accolade follows the Club Mark that had been presented to Tallaght Town last year in recognition of their efforts to ensure they had the correct structures in place in terms of club governance and administration.
The presentation of the Club Mark One Star in Carolan Park recognised the fact that Tallaght’s coaches have the required coaching badges to coach at their specific age groups.
They must also be garda vetted and have their safeguarding course completed along with a proper coaching structure and player development plan in place.
“We have a fantastic coaching structure in place for our 74 coaches” said Alan Merriman, Tallaght Town Club Chairperson.
“We have teamed up with coerver coaching for our younger kids to develop their technical skills and with the FAI for structure in our teams.
“The club will also be investing in the veo video system for recording games for classroom analysis this season.
“Having A licensed coaches like Paul Barry looking after our academy and right up to Under 10s really gives our kids a great start in football.
“Alan Nolan looks after our Under 11s and 12s and Mikey Kinsella, our Director of Football, overseas all aspects of player development within the club.
“The club has been growing substantially over the past five years and we have gone from having 10 schoolboy teams to 28 schoolboy teams, seven girls teams, a senior team, an Over 35s team as well as a Football-for-All team for children with autism.
“The club has invested heavily in trying to provide first-class facilities in our home grounds in Carolan Park and Postal Sports Grounds.
“With the completion of our clubhouse three years ago, our focus will now turn to installing a 4G astro pitch in our grounds in Caralon Park.
“We are excited about the future, but as a community club we really need the support of SDCC to fulfil our potential” he stressed.
