Kavanagh, aged 26, with an address at Cushlawn Dale, Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to having no insurance and no driving licence at Russell Close in Tallaght on September 30, 2016.

Kavanagh was before the court for a probation report and for sentencing. She had been directed to a drivers awareness course run by the restorative justice services.

Judge McNamara said it was a good report.

She noted that Kavanagh had seven previous convictions and one for no insurance.

In response to Judge McNamara, Sergeant Michael Ahern said Kavanagh had not come to any garda attention since the incident.

Judge McNamara fined Kavanagh €350 for having no insurance and imposed a nine-month driving ban. She also fined Kavanagh €200 for having no licence.
