A TEENAGER who stole a power drill was sentenced to 120 hours community service by Tallaght Court.
Anthony Brennan, aged 18, with an address at Cloonmore Gardens, Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to stealing a cordless power drill worth €55 from Aldi, Belgard Road, Tallaght, on February 15, 2017.
He had also been charged with stealing a lawnmower worth €280 from an address at Cloonmore Estate, Tallaght, on March 26, 2016.
He was before Judge Patricia McNamara for a probation report on the lawnmower charge.
Brennan’s solicitor, Michael Hennessy, said his client had paid €200 compensation for the lawnmower.
Judge McNamara struck out the lawnmower charge.
Judge McNamara asked Brennan how he was getting on. Brennan replied: “Grand”. Judge McNamara sentenced Brennan to 120 hours community service with four months detention in default.
