TCC forced ‘to take on the role of monitor of unauthorised signage’

A MOTION calling for immediate resources to be committed to the Tallaght Village Architectural Conservation Area (ACA), to resolve a backlog of reports and to remove and reverse illegal work which has been carried out, was carried at Tallaght Community Council’s (TCC) AGM recently.
The voluntary community group stated at their AGM, which was held in St Maelruain’s Church, that they have been “forced to take on the role of monitor of unauthorised and inappropriate signage, boundary works and removal of original features” in the Tallaght Village ACA.

They further added that South Dublin County Council’s response to these issues is “not acceptable”, as some open cases are older than three years with “no resolution or action” in sight, according to TCC.
TCC stated that they want the backlog of reports resolved and for illegal work to be reversed and for illegal signage to be removed by November 2018.
Fourteen motions were tabled at TCC’s AGM, covering topics including police resources, animal grids in Bohernabreena, strengthening Tallaght’s amenities and webcasting and broadcasting council meetings and local area committee meetings.
