Ted was first person to receive kidney transplant

THE FIRST person to undergo a transplant in Ireland, back in 1963, has been remembered as part of the Irish Kidney Association Annual Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving.

In December of 1963, Ted Tobin, a young man from Crumlin, became the first person to undergo a transplant in Ireland, making medical history in the process.
