Teen shouting ‘profanities’ after concert gets one month suspended sentence

A TEENAGER who was shouting “f**king scum” and “f**king p***ks” after a concert received a one-month suspended sentence in Tallaght District Court.
Harry Walsh, aged 18, with an address at Woodfield, Knocklyon, had been found guilty after a trial of engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Glenmore Park, Ballyboden on July 16, 2017.
The court had heard that on the above date, the gardai had been called to an incident in Ballyboden.
On arrival at the scene, the gardai saw a unit of Dublin Fire Brigade treating two males who were lying on the ground.
Walsh was standing nearby. A garda witness had told the court that Walsh had been shouting “profanities” such as “f**king scum” and “f**king p***ks”.
Walsh was before Judge Patricia McNamara for a probation report.
She asked Walsh how his Leaving Cert had gone. Walsh said it had gone well and added that he wants to study IT.
Sergeant Eithne Madden said Walsh had four previous convictions.
At Tallaght Court on April 11 last, he had been sentenced to nine months detention for assault causing harm.
Judge McNamara told Walsh: “You clearly have an issue with anger. This is coming out in the report. There is an issue there.”
Walsh’s counsel, Stephen Montgomery Bl, told Judge McNamara that his client would be willing to do an anger-management course.
Judge McNamara sentenced Walsh to one month’s detention and suspended it for six months.
