Teenager (14) charged with stealing dog leads from a pet shop

A 14-year-old boy has appeared in Tallaght Court charged with stealing dog leads.

The boy was accompanied by his mother.

The boy, who has an address in Tallaght, is charged with stealing dog leads worth €41.98 from a pet shop in Tallaght on January 21, 2017. He would have been 13 at the time of the incident.

The boy’s solicitor, Michael Hennessy, asked the judge to make an order for disclosure.

He asked Sergeant Eithne Madden if the boy had been offered the juvenile diversion scheme.

Sgt Madden said she would look into it.

Judge Patricia McNamara remanded the boy on continuing bail for four weeks for mention.
