THE dedication of doctors and nurses at Tallaght University Hospital during Covid-19 features in a documentary due to air this Monday, September 14.

Called Covid-19; Hope Survives, the documentary was filmed across Ireland throughout lockdown, and is, according to producers, an ‘uplifting take’ on the country’s Covid-19 journey.

The documentary, which will air on Virgin Media One, features Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) and “vividly portrays the dedication of our doctors and nurses, despite the emotional toll of 24-hour shifts and constant worry”.

Professor Catherine Wall and Prof Ronán Collins, who are based at Tallaght, also provide first-hand contributions.

Alongside featuring the local hospital, the documentary follows the journey to ensure Ireland had a healthy stock of both ventilators and PPE, the impact of the pandemic on families and the work of frontline workers in care homes.
