The initiative was orchestrated by Knockmitten Youth and Community Centre and Volunteer Ireland.

25 volunteers helped renovate Knockmitten community garden.

According to Knockmitten Centre Manager David Cuadra, it required an “outstanding effort from 25 enthusiastic volunteers” from the National Shared Services Office (NSSO).

“They worked hard to place nine new garden beds at the centre’s community garden. The Men’s Shed, Clondalkin, pitched in with the planning, measuring and making of the garden beds.

“The centre is thrilled with the results and will use the new garden to grow fresh produce for their Seniors Dinners Group who meet every Tuesday and Friday.

“Knockmitten Youth and Community Centre wish to commend all of the volunteers on their hard work, and to give special thanks to WH Scott and the South Dublin County Partnership for their sponsorship of this project.”
