The live crib comes to Áras Chrónáin

FOLLOWING the wonderful success of last year,  Beithilín Beo will return this weekend, December 10 and 11, to Áras Chrónáin, Ionad Cultúir – Irish Cultural Centre in Clondalkin, reports Abigail Glynn.

Performances, which are free, are on the hour, between 1pm and 5pm each day.

Once again, the life size crib with live animals and actors, promises to be an uplifting, entertaining and spiritual experience with choreographed movement to a specially collated musical soundtrack.

An Beithilín Beo will enthrall, entertain and recapture the wonderful Christmas spirit in everyone from three years to 93 years in this unique community presentation.

Construction of the life-size stable is being undertaken by Muintir Chrónáin & the local community, in the old traditional way, not a drill or nail in sight.

With the support from Tower Credit Union, Newlands Garden Centre, South Dublin County Council, South Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Foras na Gaeilge, the crib has been devised by ex-Ros na Run soap star, Brendan Murray, produced by Brian Ó Gáibhín and directed by Óisín Mac Tiarnáin.

The cast and crew are all members of Aisteoirí Chrónáin and friends of Muintir Chrónain and Áras Chrónáin.

Admission is free and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mince pies will be served.

Donations are welcome and gladly accepted to help ensure the continuation of this wonderful magical community project each year.

After each performance, children are invited to come and explore the crib, to quietly and gently visit the animals.

An Beithilín Beo, live crib, will be certain to evoke lots of Christmas spirit in the heart of Clondalkin.

This is a truly magical event involving the whole community.
