The search is on for Tallaght’s best young entrepreneur

Do you fancy yourself as an innovator and want an extra push to turn your big idea into a business? You might be in luck because the search is on for Tallaght’s Best Young Entrepreneur.

Whether your business is a seed of an idea or a fully-fledged operation, you could receive a share of €50,000 from the Tallaght Enterprise Office to get backing for your startup or business.

Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) fund will be awarded for three categories: best idea (pre-trading), best startup (younger than 18 months) and best established business (over 18 months old).

Winners and three runner-ups from their local areas will be awarded a share of €50,000.

An investment fund of €100,000 is available to the young entrepreneurs who reach the national level in 2018.

The competition, supported by Enterprise Ireland and the EU Regional Development Fund, is freeto enter and there’s hundreds of place on the IBYE Business Bootcamp to be won.

Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Katherine Zappone encouraged young people from Tallaght to apply for the competition at local level, in hopes of reaching the national final.

The Dublin South-West TD said: “This is a real opportunity for the brightest and best young business people to shine and to secure some real backing.

“Those who win in Tallaght will also go forward to the National Final where a further €100,000 is available.

“Our young people have fantastic ideas – that has come through to me during visits to local community groups, our schools and the Institute of Technology. This is a real opportunity to turn those ideas into action. Best of luck to all the applicants in Tallaght area.”

The competition is open to those aged between 18 and 35. The closing date for applications is September 29th and full details can be found HERE.
