The Show Goes On: Civic prep for new shows

The CIVIC Theatre have announced preparations for new shows once current Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

South Dublin County Council confirmed that the Civic is continuing to monitor the situation regarding reopening to the public in line with Government guidelines.

The Council said: “We are however doing everything we can to put in place provisional preparations for an exciting and timely series of engagements with our local community.”

Some of the shows the public can look forward to seeing once restrictions are lifted are;‘Ready Steady Show’ which features 50 different engagements with artists with early years audiences, creches and primary schools. ‘Songs of Change’ which is a show of songs and stories made and delivered by residents across South Dublin, reflecting on life lived today.

A new play called ‘Milk and Videos’ by Tallaght native Emmet Kirwan is also in preparation to be premiered at The Civic.

‘Traction’ is an EU funded virtual reality opera which is in partnership with the National Opera.

‘This is a Blank Page’ is a newly developed work by Tallaght Young Ensemble Freshly Ground which is in conjunction with secondary schools, exploring the pros and cons of the Leaving Certificate and its impact on young people’s lives.

‘Mother Tongues’ is a mini festival that celebrates a range of work produced in a wide number of tongues and celebrates diversity and inclusion.
