Trinity ‘distinction’ for two schools

TWO local secondary schools have received a ‘School of Distinction’ Community Award from Trinity College Dublin.

Firhouse Community College (FCC) and Moyle Park College in Clondalkin received the award which recognised the extraordinary efforts of the students to transform their school culture through projects and subjects.

Guided by their teachers, the students at both schools put in the hard work and were rewarded for their efforts when they were announced as the winners of the community award last week.

The Trinity College Dublin ‘School of Distinction’ award scheme aims to support the development of ‘college-going’ practices and a learning environment across schools in Ireland.

There are three award levels in the scheme – the Community Award, Innovation Award and Transformation Award.

The Community Award recognises the achievement of schools who have identified the needs of students and teachers at their school and reached relevant targets to address these particular needs.

More details regarding the awards ceremony for both schools are to be announced in the coming weeks.
