Two new warehouses with office space for Citywest

PLANS to build two warehouses with ancillary office space in Citywest campus have been lodged with South Dublin County Council, reports Hayden Moore.

The applicant, Exeter Ireland IV B Ltd, is seeking permission to construct the two warehouses which scale up to 16.35m and 15.35m in height respectively on lands in Brownsbarn, Citywest.

Unit one is the taller building, with a gross floor area of 8,156 sq m, made up primarily of a warehouse area (7,397 sq m) with office space and staff facilities included.

The second unit will have a floor area of 5,990 sq m made up of a warehouse (5,031 sq m), office areas and staff facilities.

Located just off junction three of the Naas Road, the site will have vehicular access via the existing roundabout and access road.

There will be 109 car parking spaces, bicycle parking – the total number of which is not specified – and heavy goods vehicular parking with level access goods doors, dock levellers and access gates make up the proposal received by the council.

An ESB substation, sprinkler tanks and a pump house are also included in the proposed development.

The planning application was received by South Dublin County Council on June 22.

The closing date for third party submissions is on July 26.

A decision from the council is expected on the application on August 16, 2021.
