Two women hospitalised and two males arrested after hit-and-run incident in Saggart

Two people are in Garda custody tonight after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Saggart.

Gardai said the driver of the car fled the scene on foot.

In total, four cars were involved, and two women from other cars, aged in their 20 and 50s, were taken to Tallaght hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening

Both males were arrested on road traffic offences and have been taken to Clondalkin Garda station.

In a statement released to Echo.ie this evening a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Clondalkin are investigating a hit and run road traffic collision on the Boherboy Rd at Saggart at approximately 5.10pm today (23rd August 2017) involving four cars.

Two females( 20s and 50s) were injured, and both were taken to Tallaght hospital where their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“Two males from one car were arrested at the scene for road traffic offences. The driver of this car fled the scene on foot.”

The road was closed for a period of time and re-opened at approximately 8pm.
