Willingness to increase usage of community centre
THERE is a “willingness to increase usage” of the Ard Mór Community Centre in Tallaght, according to South Dublin County Council.
The council stated this in response to a motion tabled by Solidarity councillor Kieran Mahon at a meeting of the Tallaght Area Committee on Monday afternoon.
Cllr Mahon requested a report on the current usage of the community centre and requested that the committee discuss how it can be “more fully utilised in a targeted way”.
In response, South Dublin County Council noted that the premises is currently in use by the Education and Training Board (ETB), Foróige and the YMCA.
“Foróige have indicated a willingness to increase usage and we are currently exploring avenues to solidify that interest into bookings,” stated the council.
“We are also engaging with other public sector service providers to see if we can maximise usage of the facility.”
