Woodstown ‘Slow Down’ campaign gets top support

THERE was a great turnout at the Woodstown Village Junior Committee’s Slow Down Campaign last Saturday, with up to 100 children and adults in attendance.
Residents from Daletree residents’ association, Oakdale residents’ association and members of Knocklyon United also came out to take part in the campaign.
They were joined by two squad cars and a bike from Tallaght Garda Station with the gardaí using a speed detection radar to monitor the traffic during the campaign.
Gabriel Curtis of the Woodstown Village residents’ association spoke to The Echo, saying: “It was a lovely, sunny day. We began the campaign on the Ballycullen road outside the estates, before marching up to the main junction of Ballycullen road.
“We were joined by kids from Daletree residents’ association, Oakdale residents’ association and from Knocklyon United and we had support from a number of local councillors including Deirdre O’Donovan, Colm Brophy and Anne-Marie Dermody.
“It was all organised with the help of Ashling Murphy from Oakdale residents’ association and Aileen Stack from Daletree residents’ association.
“It wouldn’t have been possible without all the work from the kids who have worked so hard as part of their junior committees.”
