Participants ranging from 10-18 years old will present an action project that aims to raise environmental awareness and make a positive contribution in their local community.

As an all-island initiative, ECO-UNESCO’s Young Environmentalist Awards rewards and recognises the work of young people in environmental protection through local environmental action projects.

Now in its 17th year, the programme has been receiving hundreds of applications from schools and youth groups across the Republic and Northern Ireland over the past few weeks.

The Leinster ECO-Den is the last of the five regional ECO-Dens.

Across the three days the ECO-Den finalists will have the opportunity to impress a panel of expert judges and show that their group deserves a spot in the Final of ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards 2016 in Dublin’s Mansion House on Wednesday, May 18.
