Young Tallaght man (20) allegedly threatened to kill security guard

A YOUNG man allegedly threatened to kill a security guard in Citywest, Blanchardstown Court has heard.

James O’Reilly’s case will be kept in the District Court.

O’Reilly, aged 20, with an address at Ard Mor Walk, Tallaght, is charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a named male at CityWest Business Park, Naas Road, on February 13, 2016.

Detective-Garda Shane Barry told Judge McHugh that the DPP had directed summary disposal.

Judge McHugh asked what was alleged.

Det-Garda Barry said it will be alleged that on February 13 last, O’Reilly had driven into CityWest Business Park and was observed by security.

He said it will be alleged that O’Reilly was known to the security in the park. Det-Garda Barry said it will be alleged that O’Reilly was stopped by security and he became aggressive.

He said it will be alleged that O’Reilly told one of the security guards that he would “go to the NCT in Naas and get his address”.

Judge McHugh noted that jurisdiction had previously been accepted.

He remanded O’Reilly on bail for three weeks for a plea or a date for hearing.
