180 Paddy Power jobs leave Tallaght by August

ALL bets are off as Paddy Power takes the decision to leave Tallaght, with 180 staff due to move to the company’s HQ in Clonskeagh by August.
Paddy Power has over the years grown into a strong employer for Tallaght and its surrounding communities, with the betting giant employing more than 700 people across two sites on Airton Road and Broomhill Road in 2010.

A further 375 jobs were also on route to Tallaght in 2010, when Paddy Power announced it would be creating, over the course of three years, e-commerce, technology, quantitative research, online marketing and risk management jobs in its international online business centre in Tallaght.
However in 2011, the company announced that it was moving its head office from Tallaght to Clonskeagh, resulting in the transfer of more than 600 workers out of the area.
In recent years, Paddy Power has maintained its Dial-a-Bet operation in Tallaght.

However, The Echo has learned that this leg of the business is now moving to Clonskeagh, with the move expected to be complete by August.
When contacted by The Echo, a spokesman for Paddy Power said: “We recently decided to relocate our Dial-a-Bet operation in Tallaght to our head office in Clonskeagh.
“This will see us bring our Dublin operations team under one roof, we believe this will enable us to provide both better support to our customers and a better working environment and career opportunities for our team.”
The spokesperson added: “There are 180 employees [in the Tallaght centre], although many of those are part time.
“There are no job losses and we’ve put measures in place to support staff where extra travel is needed.”
According to the spokesperson, the move is expected to be complete in August.
