352 social housing units being constructed in county

OVER 350 social housing units are currently being constructed in the county.
The figures were revealed at this months council meeting following a question tabled by Councillor Dermot Looney.
Cllr Looney had asked the Chief Executive “ to state the Council’s plans for further social housing building beyond the projects outlined in response to questions at October's Council meeting.”
The Council replied that there are a total of 352 units being constructed.
Of these, 11 are in St Mark’s Green, Clondalkin and are due for completion by the second quarter of 2018.
In MacUilliam in Tallaght there are 28 which will be ready in the third quarter of 2018.
There are 18 units in the Mayfield estate in Clondalkin which will be ready in the second quarter of 2018.
In Dromcarra Estate in Tallaght, 14 units will be completed in the third quarter of 2018.
In St Aidan’s in Tallaght, 66 units will be ready in the second quarter and 19 units will be ready in the third quarter of 2018.
In Killininny, 24 units will be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
In St Cuthbert’s in Clondalkin, 63 units will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018. In Letts Field in Neilstown, 37 units will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018.
Over in Ballyboden, 40 units will be finished by the first quarter of 2019. In Killinarden, 27 units will be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
The Council also have three sites at feasibility stage, comprising a total of 170 units.
In addition they are also progressing 109 units at Kilcarbery through the National Bundle 1 PPP scheme and the integrated housing project also at Kilcarbery of which 30% of the total units will be Social Housing units.
Work is also progressing in identifying further projects and drawing up a schedule to advance Part 8s on Council owned land.
