Bluebell Community Development Project hosting free seminar

The Bluebell Community Development Project (CDP) is hosting a free seminar with the Disability Equality Specialist Support Agency (DESSA) on Wednesday 13 from 9am to 2pm at the Bluebell Youth and Community Centre.

The seminar is supported by Dublin South City Partnership and will focus on Inchicore, however, it applies to all areas and professions, particularly those with community and youth work programmes.

It will explore how community development can enable disabled adults to live ordinary lives in their communities and provide a forum for discussion on community development engagement with disability services.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin City, Mícheál Mac Donncha, will open the seminar and will be followed by an address by the minister of state with responsibility for disability, Finian McGrath.

Other speakers include Ms Anastasia Crickley, President of the UN Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) and Chair of Community Work Ireland (945am) and Mr Peter Kearns of DESSA (1130am).

The event is on Wednesday 13 at the Bluebell Youth and Community Centre, Bluebell CDP, Bluebell Road, Dublin 12, from 9am to 2pm.
