Bright Sparks raises €3k to support people of Ukraine

BRIGHT Sparks Montessori and Day care in Clondalkin held a fundraiser for Ukraine, raising almost €3000, which will go directly to help those in need.

The Montessori, which is located in St Anthony’s Avenue in Clondalkin, held the fundraiser on Tuesday, March 29, and all of the staff and children dressed up in blue and yellow to show their support and solidarity with Ukraine.

The final amount raised from the fundraiser was €2,991, which was then donated to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Appeal. Owner of Bright Sparks, Laura Cullen, said that they held the fundraiser as the staff felt like they wanted to help in some way.

“We decided just to do something for Ukraine, all of the staff felt very strongly about it”, said Laura. “We asked for donations of prizes and between parents, family and friends we got a huge number of prizes.

“Our first prize was two tickets to Westlife, and we had lots of different hampers, beauty hampers, chocolates and dinners in restaurants. We sold the tickets for about two weeks, and raised almost €3000, which is great.

“The children dressed up in yellow and blue and pulled the tickets on the live Facebook draw and the staff made little solidarity bracelets in blue and yellow as well and it was a great day.”
