SHAMROCK Rovers forward Graham Burke has been included in Martin O’Neill’s provisional squad for friendly games against Celtic (May 20), France (May 28) and United States (June 2).

Currently joint top scorer in the league on nine goals, Burke will be hoping to get the chance to prove his worth on the international stage as Ireland gear up for the UEFA Nations League opener against Wales on September 6.

He was awarded SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writer’s Association of Ireland Player of the Month Award for March during which period he fired home six goals.

And Burke will be hoping to help the Hoops make a return to winning ways in the Airtricity League tomorrow when they entertain the high-flying Waterford in Tallaght Stadium.

Also included in the Ireland provisional squad is former Shamrock Rovers full back Enda Stevens who now plies his trade with a Sheffield United outfit that took tenth place in the English Championship this season.

The game against the US in early June will mark the last for long-time defender John O’Shea who will captain the side.
