
Cairn Homes seeking to build 128 dwellings in Adamstown

ONE of the largest housebuilders in the country, Cairn Homes, is seeking permission for the development of 128 dwellings in Adamstown, Lucan.
The developer lodged an application with South Dublin County Council this month, outlining plans for the development of 46 one-bed apartments, 70 two-bed apartments, six three-bed duplex units and six four-bed houses, arranged over four blocks.

Block A is to contain 43 apartments, ancillary accommodation and associated balconies in a four- to five-storey block, comprising 11 one-bed apartments and 32 two- bed apartments.
Block B is to house 67 apartments, ancillary accommodation, communal open space and associated balconies in a four-storey block, comprising 35 one-bed apartments and 32 two-bed apartments.
It is proposed that Block C will contain 12 dwellings, and associated terraces and gardens, in a three-storey block, comprising six three-bed duplex units over six two-bed apartments.
Block D is to contain six four-bed, two-storey houses and associated gardens.
Provision of all associated internal roads, car parking (158 spaces), bicycle parking (122 spaces), bin storage areas, associated pedestrian footpaths and cycle paths, public open space, communal and private open space, hard and soft landscaping is included in the application.
A decision on the application is due from South Dublin County Council by April 6.
Cairn Homes previously secured planning permission for the development of 40 dwellings in Adamstown, Lucan, the development of 417 apartments at Cooldown Commons in Citywest, and a new public park in Adamstown called Tobermaclugg Park.
