Clondalkin Helping Homeless launch Xmas shoebox appeal

CLONDALKIN Helping Homeless have launched a Christmas shoebox appeal.

The voluntary organisation has thanked everyone for their support over the last year, declaring that there are now enough supplies for the moment of clothing, bedding, duvets, pillows and toys.

However, they are still appealing for food and sleeping bags.

Independent councillor Francis Timmons, a member of the group, said: ‘’We are looking for people to put a few bits in for the shoe box appeal.

“If they can put the age on the box, from babies to toddlers, to teenagers to adults. A gift shoe box can make a huge difference to people.

“It could be a range of things, baby rattles, teddy bears, toddlers books, toys, books and games for teens, and books and CDs for adults. Last year we helped a lot of families. This year we are hopeful to be able to help as many if not more.”
