Clondalkin man charged with murder of Alan O’Neill from Tallaght

A YOUNG man (20) was before Tallaght Court this morning charged with the murder of Alan O’Neill who was shot on Kiltalown Road in Tallaght in May 2015.

Warren Nolan appeared in custody before Judge Patricia McNamara.

Garda Superintendent Peter Duff was present in court during the short hearing.

Nolan, with an address at   Rowlagh Park, Clondalkin, is charged with the murder of Mr O’Neill at Kiltalown Road, Tallaght, on May 27, 2015. He is also charged with arson by setting fire to a  Mazda car at Belfry Square, Citywest, also on May 27, 2015.

Detective-Garda Conor Harrison told Judge McNamara that he arrested Nolan before the court that morning. He said that Nolan was charged with two offences. Det-Gda Harrison said Nolan made no reply to the first charge and replied “no comment” to the second charge.

Commenting on the nature of the first charge, Judge McNamara said that the question of bail was not an issue.  

Nolan’s counsel, George Burns Bl,  said his client was of limited means. Judge McNamara granted Nolan legal aid. She remanded him in custody to Cloverhill District Court on December 9 next.
