Community rocked by public suicide in Le Fanu Park
A teenage male took his own life by hanging himself from the goalposts on the football pitch at the park.
Gardai did their best to console residents after arriving on the scene, the tragedy was particularly upsetting for a local mother who discovered the 15-year-old.
It is the seventh public suicide in Ballyfermot over the last two years, but representatives have stressed the provision of free suicide prevention services in the area, such as Pieta House, for people who might be feeling suicidal or in distress.
Of the seven public suicides, three of them have occurred in 2014.
All of the persons were male, and five were young teenage males.
