Council proposing two play spaces in Newcastle

TWO PROPOSED playspaces in Newcastle have moved a step further with South Dublin County Council on Wednesday publishing a Part 8 public notice.
SDCC are proposing to construct two play spaces, one at Burgage Green and one at Newcastle Boulevard, both in Newcastle.

The proposed playspace at Burgage Green will incorporate play equipment, appropriate surfacing, seating areas, planting and paving.
The sister proposed playspace at Newcastle Boulevard will also incorporate play equipment, appropriate surfacing, seating areas, planting and paving.
The proposal has undergone appropriate assessment screening under the EU Habitats Directive and has been screened for Environmental Impact Assessment.
Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy from June 13 to July 12 at SDCC offices in County Hall, Tallaght, at the Civic Offices in Clondalkin and at Clondalkin Library in Clondalkin Village.

The Part 8 notice has been welcomed by local councillor Francis Timmons.
Cllr Timmons told The Echo that he was “delighted” that the Part 8 documents had been released.
He added: “I have raised the play space several times throughout the last council and we are now at last closer to a play space in Newcastle. Newcastle is one of the fastest growing areas and has been left behind in regards to facilities and infrastructure – the residents of Newcastle deserve better, I would hope that this play space is agreed and a long-awaited facility is provided.’’
