THERE was a huge turnout in Dundalk IT yesterday for the Irish Life Health Uneven Ages National Cross Country, with DSD adding to its haul of medals from Abbotstown with many fine performances.

A great run by Paul O’Donnell saw him win the Under 19 Boy’s race, leading the club’s team to first place, with Christian McKenna, just back from injury, supporting him well in 13th place.

In the Under 17 Girls event Abi Taylor showed no effects from her illness of last week, running a superb race to take the title.
She also led the DSD team to team gold medals, with Roseanne McCull-ough taking individual bronze.

Aaron Donnelly was first home for the club in the Under 17 Boys race, finishing in 10th position, and playing a significant part in the runner-up finish for the team.

The DSD Under 15 Boys also took silver with Peter Duffy first home in 16th position while the club’s Under 19 Girls, despite fielding a depleted team, dug deep to secure bronze medals.

The Under 15 girls were unlucky not to pick up medals, finishing in fourth position, with Under 14 Eimear Maher leading the way in 12th place.

Also enjoying the occasion and garnering valuable experience from the day were the DSD Under 13 girls who finished eighth.
