By Simon Walsh

In this week’s Echo Sport we hear from Tallaght native Brandon Miele on winning the PFAI Young Player of the Year award, and the Shamrock Rovers starlet reflects on a superb year in the Hoops jersey.

We also have match reports from the Leinster Senior League clashes between Drumfinn and Mourne Celtic, and Palmerstown and Jobstown Celtic at the weekend, while there is news of a memorable night for Rathcoole Boys’ U13 side that played under lights at home for the first time.

Boden v St Lomans

In GAA news we have all the fallout from Ballyboden St Enda’s historic win in their Leinster semi-final, and they will now play in their first ever Leinster final against Portlaoise.

There is also news of success for Thomas Davis’ U16 side that clinched the Division Two league crown, and we have all the latest on Faughs’ Liam Walsh who has been named as a selector for the Dublin Senior Hurling team.

In other news, we chat to Knocklyon’s Shane O’Donoghue who has had a remarkable 2015, helping the Irish hockey team to qualify for the Rio Olympics, while he has also been in fine form for Belgian side Dragons.

There was success for a host of locals at the WKC Karate and Kickboxing World Championships recently, and we have news of that, while DSD Athletics Club registered some impressive wins at the recent Inter-Club Championship Team event, and we have that covered.

As always, if we have forgotten anything then do get in touch, and make sure to pick up your copy of this week’s Echo newspaper, on sale in shops and online at www.echo.ie.
