False 999 call about a stabbed female resulted in the summoning out of the Garda Armed Response Unit
A LUCAN man allegedly made a false 999 call about a female having been stabbed, causing the Garda Armed Response Unit to call to an address, Blanchardstown District Court has heard.
Judge David McHugh accepted jurisidiction in Raymond Ariwi’s case.

Presenting Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Judge McHugh that the DPP had directed summary disposal. Judge McHugh asked what was alleged.
Sgt Callaghan said it will be alleged that at 5.00pm on January 23, 2019, Ariwi called to Lucan Garda Station and then left and made a 999 call stating that a female had been stabbed at an address in Lucan, causing the Armed Reponse Unit to be called out to the address. Sgt Callaghan said it will be alleged that this was a false report.
Ariwi, aged 34, with an address at Adamstown Court, Adamstown Road, Lucan village, is charged with making a false 999 report contrary to Section 12 (A) of the Criminal Law Act, 1976, at Lucan Garda Station on January 23, 2019. He is also charged with failing to comply with garda directions at Lucan Garda Station on the above date. Ariwi’s solicitor asked Judge McHugh for some time to go through the case with his client.
Judge McHugh remanded Ariwi on bail for three weeks for a plea or a date for hearing.
