Football match in memory of Keith ‘Bosch’ Byrne

LEGENDS of Liverpool FC will take to Richmond Park to play in a football match in memory of the late Keith ‘Bosch’ Byrne.

A member of St John Bosco FC and Good Counsel GAA, Keith Byrne passed away suddenly in September 2021.

Now, St John Bosco has organised a match in aid of “one of their own” for this Saturday, September 10 that will see a plethora of Liverpool legends go up against his friends and family.

The likes of Ronnie Whelan, Ray Houghton, Jason McAteer, Jermaine Pennant and Alan Kennedy will line out for the reds to face three different teams across the 90 minutes.

St John Bosco FC, Harvey Norman FC and a friends and family selection will get a crack at the Liverpool legends for 30-minutes each.

Part of the proceeds from the day will go to the Irish Heart Foundation.

Starting with a meet and greet with the players in the Eleanora Pub in Drimnagh, St John Bosco Juniors will then kick off at 2.30pm to warm the crowd up at Richmond Park.

At 3pm, the Liverpool legends will take to the park to take on the three teams, and later, there will be a questions and answer session with them in Good Counsel GAA’s clubhouse from 7pm.

Spot prizes will be up for grabs on the night before former St Patrick’s Athletic player Robbie Doyle plays some music.

Tickets cost €10 on the gate and are also available in McDowell’s Pub.
