Funding approved for new ASD unit at school

A TEMPLEOGUE primary school have been approved funding for a new Autism Spectrum Disorder Unit (ASD).

The Government approved the funding for the new ASD Unit at Bishop Galvin Senior National School, located in Orwell Park in Templeogue. The news comes after the opening of an ASD unit at Bishop Shanahan, the junior primary school.

Fianna Fáil TD John Lahart welcomed the funding allocation in an online post, calling it a “significant step” forward.

Deputy Lahart commented: “Delighted that the government has agreed to fund a new ASD Unit at Bishop Galvin National School.

“I strongly advocate for children with special needs, and this is a significant step forward and follows on the opening this year of a unit by Bishop Shanahan JNS.”
