The groups were guided by artist Christine Carey to create a picture which portrays what they are most looking forward to after lockdown and was sure to evoke a spirit of hopefulness and joy as we gradually come out the other side of the pandemic.

Commenting on the successful event, Imelda Hanratty, U3A & Volunteer/outreach Officer said: “It was great to have everyone working together face to face and on Zoom, there were 30 people involved including adults and children and all had great fun taking part.”

The event was supported by South Dublin County Council Social Inclusion Unit and was one of three that ran in the month of May to celebrate the festival.

The other events that took place were floral displays and gardening by Suzanne O’Neill and an important talk about nurturing out longevity, given by Professor Desmond O’Neill, Professor in Medical Gerontology Trinity College Dublin.
