Gymstars Lucan members shine in National Showcase Event
GYMSTARS Gymnastics Lucan saw their Junior and Senior Display teams perform superbly at ‘The Floor’ – Gymnastics Ireland’s National Showcase Event at the National Sports Arena in Blanchardstown on Sunday.
The event was an opportunity for clubs throughout the country to perform group displays and demonstrate how skilful, fun, entertaining and exciting the sport of gymnastics can be.

The Gymstars junior display team (age 6-7) were superheroes while the club’s senior team (age 8-11) had a darker, eerie theme and both figured among the awards with the Senior team taking the ‘Best Concept’ honour and the Junior outfit scooping the ‘Audience Engagement’ Award.
“Gymstars Gymnastics have been coaching Lucan children for 12 years, but we have be unable to find an adequate venue for our club” said club owner and coach Grainne O’Dwyer.
“We have tried for many years to get either community or commercial space.
“We currently operate from two schools in Lucan, and transport all of our mats and apparatus in a van and unload every day. It’s very tough for us, but we are committed to Lucan kids and hope to find our full-time club soon” she added.
