June Team of the Month: Tallaght AC’s Men’s 4x100M Relay Team

TALLAGHT Athletic Club accounted for a number of highlights at last month’s Irish Life Health National Senior Track and Field Championships in Santry among which the achievements of their Men’s 4x100m Relay team was one.

Indeed Sean Aigboboh, Kieran Elliott, Simon Essuman and Joseph Finnegan Murphy combined to see off the challenge of Crusaders and Emerald AC on their way to the title in a time of 42.22.

Their victory served to underscore the depth of sprinting talent that has been emerging from Tallaght in recent years.

Indeed Aigboboh, himself, delivered an impressive performance to win the 100m title at the Tailteann Schools Inter Provincial Games in Tullamore in 10.71 also in June.

Although his time was good enough to earn qualification for the European Under 18 Championships, it unfortunately came too late as the cut-off date had closed the previous week.

Among the other highlights for Tallaght at this year’s National Seniors was that of their international star, Rhasidat Adeleke who pulled off a dramatic 100m victory, pipping Molly Scott to the title by just one 100th of a second.
