Local community rallies as Rathcoole man continues to battle horrific injuries

The community continues to rally around the local family of a Rathcoole man who suffered horrific injuries in Australia last Monday.

David Conway, a carpenter living and working in Brisbane, fell 20 metres while working on a construction site.

On Wednesday his brother Stephen confirmed that David would have to have both his feet amputated, although his vital organs are now said to be stable.

He also needs an operation on his pelvis, but an infection means that will have to wait.

Speaking earlier this week, his brother Stephen said: “It’s an absolute miracle he is here, one million per cent, he shouldn’t be alive.”

As part of the huge fundraising effort that has already seen almost $25,000 raised, Muldowneys Pub in Rathcoole will host a benefit night for David next Friday.

Tickets are now on sale and you can check out more on their Facebook page HERE.
