Lucan Sarsfield GAA make Christmas shoebox appeal

LUCAN SARSFIELDS GAA Club are teaming up with Inner City Helping Homeless for a Christmas shoebox and clothes appeal this week.

People can drop in donations of old clothes or Christmas shoeboxes between 7.30pm and 10pm from now until Friday, December 8.

Lucan Sarsfields will have a dressing-room marked for drop-offs, plus any donations can be dropped into the clubhouse bar.

For the clothes appeal they are asking people to clear out their wardrobes as they accept secondhand jackets, coats, jumpers, tops, hoodies, tracksuit bottoms, hats, scarves and gloves. They also accept donations of new underwear and socks.

For the Christmas shoebox appeal people are asked to wrap a shoebox for a child, male or female, that ICCH will then distribute to the homeless across dublin city and county.

Inner City Helping Homeless is a volunteer-led homeless charity based in Amiens Street. They offer a daytime advocacy and support service and are Dublin’s frontline outreach service, with outreach volunteers and a mobile unit on the streets seven nights per week.
