Maintenance depot workers to tackle issues in Tymon Park

MAINTENANCE issues in Tymon Park have been referred to the park’s maintenance depot, according to South Dublin County Council.

Issues such as weeds overgrowing on the mayor’s stone, footpath and bridge resurfacing, and remedial works on park benches, were raised by Independent councillor Mick Duff.

Cllr Duff asked the council about the issues at a recent Tallaght Area Committee meeting, and asked if they had any maintenance plans in place.

In response, the local authority said: “The maintenance issues raised here in relation to Tymon Park and at the Basketball Arena Road have been referred to the Tymon Park maintenance depot for attention.

“The locations where footpath repairs and surfacing are required will be included in the works programme to be carried out by the council’s footpath surfacing contractor in the coming months.

“The overgrowth around the mayor’s stone will be cut back to make the stone visible.

“All seats within the park will be examined to identify where repairs are required, and these will be scheduled for repairs or replacement as necessary.”
