Murder investigation launched after death of man found in Sean Walsh Park

Gardai at Tallaght have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a man discovered with injuries in Sean Walsh Park on Friday.

As reported in The Echo, a man was discovered in a wooded area of the local park on Friday morning by a passerby.

The man, who has been named by Gardai as Ioan Artene Bob (49), was found injured and was brought to Tallaght Hospital, where he passed away.

Gardaí investigating the death of Ioan are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Tallaght Garda Station.

According to a Garda statement, Ioan was a Romanian national and was believed to have been working in the construction industry.

A murder investigation is under way following a post mortem examination carried out by Dr Margaret Bolster, Assistant State Pathologist.  

Gardaí believe Ioan died as a result of an assault.

According to a Garda statement: “The last confirmed sighting of Ioan was at 8.30pm on Thursday, April 12 in the Moore Street area of Dublin.

“He was discovered injured in Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght at 8.30am on Friday 13, and he died later at Tallaght Hospital.”
