O’Callaghan set to return to St Mark’s

DUBLIN hurler David O’Callaghan is set to return to his old club St Mark’s this year.

O’Callaghan played with the Ballyboden St Enda’s last year and won a Senior County Football Champ-ionship medal.

His return is a huge boost for the Springfield side who also appointed Damian Flanagan as their new senior football manager this week.

Flanagan comes from the Fingal Ravens club andwill be a big addition to Mark’s. He is a fully qualified Level Two coach and has won a Junior All-Ireland medal with Dublin.

He takes over from Alan Byrne who secured Mark’s promotion to Division Three after they won the Division Four play-off.

Mark’s met up with their new manager on Tuesday night and will be looking forward to the new season ahead.

The side is also boosted by the addition of Donal O’Callaghan from Cork along with James Hilliard who is a Laois minor and Under 21 player in both codes.

Sean McCann and John Kelly are also expected to return to the side.

“There is a great buzz around the club at the moment and we are looking forward to the new season,” said St Mark’s official Mark Brady.

“The players met the new football manager this week and the new players coming in will strengthen the side,” added Brady.
Mark’s selectors this year will be Thomas Doyle, Mark Hurley and Paul McGarry.

The club is always look-ing for new players and will hold their presentation night on February 17.
