October 2018 Team of the Month – Ballyboden’s Senior Hurlers
BALLYBODEN St Enda’s Senior Hurling Team have scooped ‘The Echo October Team of the Month’ Award after landing the Dublin Championship crown for the seventh time in 11 years.
The Firhouse side successfully negotiated a tough campaign that culminated in a titanic clash with Kilmacud Crokes in the decider in Parnell Park.

Just a couple for minutes away from seeing their title dreams destroyed, Joe Fortune’s men served up two late points in extra time to force a replay with their Stillorgan rivals.
And they certainly made the most of that reprieve to beat Kilmacud at the second time of asking.
That victory was followed up with a win over a tenacious Clonkill in the quarter finals of the Leinster Championship that also went to extra time.
And their run continued with a thrilling 5-28 to 5-25 victory over Coolderry over 90 minutes on Sunday which has set them up for a mouth-watering Leinster Championship decider against Ballyhale Shamrocks on December 2.
It will mark only the club’s second appearance in the provincial decider and they will be hoping to go one step better on their last when they lost to Birr back in 2007.
