Red Cow Wedding Copmpetition 15

How long are you together?

4½ years

How long are you engaged?

1½ years

How did you meet? (Pamela)

We met in the Kiltipper Café and Bar. We were both there for Sunday drinks, we didn’t know each other at all.

We got talking and got on great, when the night ended we went our separate ways but hadn’t got each other’s numbers!

Two weeks went by and I went back to the Kiltipper with one of my friends and who was there, only James! We haven’t looked back since.

Who proposed?

James

How did you propose? (James)

We were having a few drinks for my birthday with all our friends. I was outside talking to one of the lads about how I’d love to propose to Pamela. My friend told me I should do it there and then in front of all our friends.

The problem was I had no ring, so I ended up taking a keyring off my friend’s set of keys.  I went back into the room and got down on one knee with the keyring and asked Pamela to marry me.

What’s the most romantic thing you have ever done for each other? (Pamela)

I think the proposal was definitely one of them, I loved how spontaneous it was.

What would your ‘first dance’ song be?

Christy Moore – The Voyage

What would it mean to win this prize?

Pamela: To win this competition would be a dream because let’s face it weddings aren’t cheap and it would be a huge help towards our wedding.

We’ve wanted to get married and have spoken about just going to a registry office, just the two of us and getting married but our parents would kill us.

He is the youngest and the only boy I wouldn’t want to upset the mammy-in-law before she is even my mammy-in-law.

Also I’m my da’s first to walk down the aisle and I wouldn’t want to take that away from him because he is everything to me and my boys.

James is my best friend, my soul mate, the fruit to my nut and we can finally become a family all six of us, he gave me my smile back and also a few greys (haha).

James: To win a wedding reception like this would be a dream come true for both of us.

We have been talking about getting married for some time now. This prize would be perfect for us and it’s at the right time in our lives.

I love Pamela so much and I would love to give her the big day she deserves and winning this would be a major step towards achieving it.

She is my best friend and the best mother in the world to our boys.
