People with Covid-19 symptoms can attend test centres without appointment

By William O'Connor

Due to the HSE IT cyber attack, members of the public who are a close contact or have symptoms can attend any Covid-19 test centre without an appointment.

People can attend the Covid-19 Community Testing Centre at Citywest Hotel which is open today (Monday) from 11am to 6.30pm.

People will need photo ID and a mobile phone number at the test centre.

You can find out more about walk-in test centres HERE.

Walk-in test centres are usually for people who do not have symptoms.

Today priority will be given to people who have symptoms or are close contacts.

You do not need an appointment or a referral from a GP.

Opening times for the rest of the week will vary. We will update them as soon as possible.

You can use the COVID-19 walk-in test centre if you:

  • Live in the same area as the walk-in test centre
  • and have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 6 months

Tests are limited to one test per person. If you think you need a repeat test, talk to your GP.

Do not arrive at a test center before the opening time.

Test centres can be busy coming up to closing time. If you arrive near closing time and there is a queue, you may not get a test that day.
