Proposals for rapid-build homes in Firhouse area

PART-eight plans for 24 rapid-build homes in Firhouse have been published by South Dublin County Council.

Lodged this week, the plans contain proposals for an infill housing project on undeveloped lands at a site at the junction of Kilininny Road/Firhouse Road.

The homes comprise 11 three-bed units, and 13 three-bed units.

All homes are to be a minimum A3 BER rated.

Housing provision includes two-storey houses primarily grouped in terraces or semi-detached layout.

The site is accessed off Kilininny Road and is bounded by Firhouse Road – located close to Old Bawn Shopping Centre and Old Mill Public House.

The site was previously in council ownership for some time.

It was previously considered for a school, but this option was rejectedin favour of another site.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at South Dublin County Council offices until January 6.
