Retention permission granted for three existing prefab buildings

RETENTION permission has been granted to St Michael’s and St Raphael’s primary schools on Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot for three existing prefab buildings.

The three prefabs, one at 154m2 and two at 84m2, function as classrooms for the two schools and are located on the schools’ Dominican campus.

According to the application lodged by the schools, the classroom accommodation is of single-storey prefabricated construction complete with WC facilities provided for in each separate building.

The buildings are located within the rear playground areas and are separate from the existing school buildings.

Access to each of the prefabricated classroom buildings is provided by wheelchair access ramps.

It’s noted in their current application that the school previously received planning permission for the three classrooms in 2008.

On July 4, Dublin City Council granted retention permission to the two schools for the three prefabricated classrooms.
